The evolution of minimally invasive techniques

Painless anesthesia

The anesthesia that we use at SmartHallux® does not involve painful ankle punctures or annoying spinal anesthesia or general anesthesia.

With ultrasound guidance, our anesthetists are able to identify the nerves and with a single puncture behind the knee they are able to selectively "put to sleep" the nervous structures necessary and sufficient to perform the operation without pain, leaving the mobility of the legs and bladder control to the patient.

Early recovery

After a few hours after the operation you will be able to walk, after 7 days you will be able to drive again, after a month you will be able to wear a normal shoe again, at 45 days you will be able to resume physical activity with a low impact on the lower limbs and at 3 months you will be able to wear a shoe with the heel and resume your favorite sporting activity.

Is bunion surgery painful?

Can screws cause rejection?

Modern means of synthesis such as screws are made of titanium. It is a very particular metal, totally biocompatible and non-magnetic.
You will therefore not have problems with rejection if you have to undergo MRI scans or metal detectors.

Can I walk right away?
